They do not, however, stick very well on the heavy texture of our walls. We live in a new construction house with very heavy texturing (which I hate! It's a pain to paint too!), and they fell off within a few hours. I ended up putting an occasional thumbtack in the edges to keep them up and they are ok. A few of them are on his closet door and since that's smooth, they stuck on there perfectly.
